Oakwood & District Historical Society

The local Historical Society's initial investigation was to document all the grave and commemorative inscriptions at St John's Church. This is a substantial piece of work and took many members a long time to compile.

One member of the society has now set up a web site - http://homepage.ntlworld.com/nev.hurworth. Initially it is intended to include all MI (Memorial Inscriptions) at St John's Church Roundhay. No doubt other material will follow.

Since, the Society has gone on to produce three booklets containing articles by the society members on local items.

Booklets are available, price £3 each, from The Oakwood Clock Bookstore - Tel 0113 2930260
